Kesärauha

Kesärauha (Summer Peace) is a festival of indie and alternative music in Turku, which is held in Turku Castle Park. In 2021, Kesärauha was awarded the Festival of the Year award and it has taken its place as one of the most important alternative music festivals in Turku and Finland. At Kesärauha 2023, ticket-holders can enjoy seeing both top foreign and domestic artists.

Medieval Market

The Medieval Market is Finland's largest medieval and historical event held at Turku. Follow the rows of market stalls at the Old Great Square and take a trip back in time to Medieval Market with performing groups, jesters and minstrels. In the work displays area, artisans will demonstrate medieval working methods. The whole family can enjoy the medieval amusement! Free entry!

Ruisrock

The legendary Ruisrock is one Finland's leading and oldest cultural events. This music festival, organised in Turku's Ruissalo, is known for its wonderful, maritime event milieu and magical atmosphere. The festival gathers a unique line-up of internationally known big stars and top domestic artists on the beach, in addition to a lively festival audience. The festival, which has sold out often over the years, offers experiences, friendship, and happiness for the 52nd time this year.

Down By The Laituri

The cultural and historical surroundings of the Cathedral Square will once again be transformed into a festival area on the last weekend of July. Down By The Laituri city festival is held in summer 2023. In addition to a great line-up of artists, the festival offers top-quality restaurant services.

Challenge Turku

Challenge Turku brings an international triathlon competition to Turku and the iconic Aura riverside. Even though the competition draws the world's best professional triathletes and their Finnish counterparts to challenge for victory, Challenge Turku is also an event for the whole family. There are few barriers to participation, with available distances for people of all ages and abilities!

Aura Fest

Held for the 13th time, Aura Fest celebrates next time in summer 2023, as usual in Turku’s magnificent Kupittaa Park. Another high-quality line-up of artists bring music and merriment to the middle of the most beautiful park in Turku. The festival area is located within walking distance of central Turku, close to all the city’s services. Throw yourself into the atmosphere of Aura Fest and let the positive vibes lift your spirits! The event is only for visitors over 18 years old.

Paavo Nurmi Marathon

Celebrating its 30th anniversary, the Paavo Nurmi Marathon will take over the streets of Turku from 19th-20th August. Distances available to run at the two-day event include the 5 km, 10 km, half marathon, and marathon, as well as a Mini-marathon for the little ones in the family. The courses for this year have been renewed, with routes traversing the beautiful archipelago scenery of Turku.

Baltic Sea Day

The Baltic Sea Day is celebrated on the 31st August, bringing together many interesting events. The different kinds of events of the Baltic Sea Day are open to all, of which participation in many is free. For instance, are you interested in a creative writing workshop where you dive into the deep sea of life? Or perhaps a tour, a performance or discussion? Maybe a Nature Symphony in an open-air concert, a Baltic Sea menu or a group dip in the sea? The Baltic Sea brings many memorable moments!

WMOC 2024

World Masters Orienteering Championships 2024 is held in Turku! Turku offers a wide variety of excellent terrains for masters. Event center, sprint races and award ceremonies are all in walking distance from accommodations.
