Turku Day
Finland's oldest city comes alive with event and festive spirit as Turku Day is celebrated yearly on the third Sunday of September. Turku Day features music, dance, sports and other cultural events. The events are organised by the City of Turku, local associations, businesses and clubs. During the day, there will be the traditional Posankka Race, the market square event at the Old Great Square and Turku Day Appro for students. Bringing together over a hundred events, the celebration of the Turku Day culminates in traditional fireworks from Samppalinnanmäki at 9pm.
