The Luostarinmäki museum quarter is the only district of wooden houses that survived the Great Fire of Turku in 1827. The more than 200-year-old buildings stand on their original sites, and the alleys, yards, and homes of the block form a unique environment in the middle of the city. Dive into Luostarinmäki’s colourful history from the perspective of people that used to live here. You will find the stories of schoolchildren and midwives, musicians and circus performers.
